We are seeking an experienced Obstetric Consultant to join our team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. As a key member of our Maternity Services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Obstetrics Service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and the development of the service.
- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the management of obstetric patients, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and guidelines to ensure the safe and effective delivery of care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways and effective communication.
- Contribute to the development of the Trust's Maternity Services strategy and business plan.
- Provide teaching and training to junior staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical governance and audit activities to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Ensure active participation in continuing medical education (CME) and stay up-to-date with the latest clinical developments and research.
- GMC Registration with a full licence to practise.
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT (or CESR/equivalent) in O&G.
- Management skills, including intelligent and analytical approach to problem-solving, good time management, and computer literacy.
- Ability to contribute to the development of the Trust and its services.
- Ability to organise and manage outpatient priorities and theatre lists.
- Experience of audit and ability to work within the Trust and NHS performance framework and targets.
- Ability to manage and lead junior staff.
- Medical Degree from a recognised medical school.
- MRCOG or equivalent.
- Academic prizes, audit or case presentations, teaching qualification/awards.
- ATSM Advanced Labour Ward practice or equivalent.
- Evidence of training or interest in Perinatal Pelvic Health.
- Fully accredited by college and acceptable to college representative.
- Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of an Obstetrics Service.
- Appropriate experience in Obstetrics.
- Teaching and training of junior staff, medical students.
- Active participation in both departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance and audit.
- Responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
