Roles Available: Patient Transport Assistant (Band 2) and Integrated Care Assistant (Band 3)
Training and Development
Successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive training program, which includes a 7-week course focused on both driving and theoretical knowledge. This training is essential for ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. Participants will also work towards obtaining a Level 3 Certificate in Ambulance Patient Care and a Level 3 Award in Patient Care Services Ambulance Driving, along with support for achieving literacy and numeracy qualifications if needed.
Shift Patterns
The role involves flexible shift patterns designed to accommodate staff absences, including annual leave and sickness. Employees may be required to work during various times, including weekends and public holidays, as part of a year-round service.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Transport Assistants may operate independently or as part of a team, providing essential personal care and facilitating the safe transportation of patients. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting patients who are walking, using wheelchairs, or on stretchers to ensure their safe transit to healthcare facilities or their homes.
- Employing Manual Handling techniques to guarantee the secure movement of patients.
- Meeting the medical standards required for driving in accordance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
