About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Paralegal to join our Legal team at Abbott, a global healthcare company. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic organization that offers interesting, challenging, and rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial advice and support to Abbott's businesses in the Europe Region, communicating effectively with stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Perform substantive legal work, identifying and resolving moderately complex legal issues related to assigned matters, and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Manage the internal Legal Intake System, triaging work to Counsels within the Legal Team and tracking metrics.
  • Resolve routine and moderately complex to complex legal matters on projects involving multiple disciplines within the Legal Division and/or multiple functional areas or divisions within Abbott.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of and familiarity with Abbott's business, its people, products, markets, facilities, customers, and competitors, using this knowledge to provide guidance and counsel to Abbott's business.
  • Assist in managing external counsel across Europe and review databases for new laws relevant to Europe for Europe counsels.

Requirements

  • Law degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience as a paralegal in either private practice and/or in-house.
  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of standard commercial contracting.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat, as well as being comfortable with using systems and technologies.
  • Strong process and analytical skills, excellent time management skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
