Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and vibrant primary school in Macclesfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment, contributing to the academic and personal development of young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Support pupils with learning activities in the classroom, ensuring their understanding and engagement.
  • Contribute to the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for children with additional needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Supervise pupils during playtime, lunchtimes, and during out-of-class activities.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to monitor and track pupil progress.
  • Support in managing classroom behavior and promoting positive behavior management strategies.
  • Assist in the delivery of literacy and numeracy programs.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on pupils' progress and assist in maintaining records of achievements and behavior.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions as required.
Essential Requirements
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a primary school setting, ideally with children of different abilities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A positive, patient, and caring attitude.
  • Ability to manage and engage with children in a respectful and nurturing manner.
  • Good understanding of child development and the primary school curriculum.
  • Basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
Desirable Skills
  • Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
  • First Aid qualification.
