Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuary to join our Reinsurance Business Group at XL Catlin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the regulatory reporting and submissions for our Reinsurance Business Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement actuarial reserving reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Support the analysis needed for statutory certification of reserves.
  • Peer review assumptions and projections from a legal entity perspective.
  • Lead the production of analytics, exhibits, and reports for regulatory deliverables.
  • Develop quarterly reserve slide packs for presenting to legal entity reserve committees.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc profitability reviews, business planning, financial reporting, and special projects.
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders and business partners.
  • Support strategic actuarial initiatives by providing timely, insightful, and relevant business intelligence.
  • Collaborate with actuarial corporate and financial reporting teams globally.
Requirements
  • Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Substantial reserving experience and a desire to work closely with other professions.
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, applied math, statistics, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a collaborative team environment.
  • Outstanding analytical and research skills with exposure to business productivity software.
  • Outstanding Excel and Microsoft Office skills for data extraction, manipulation, reporting, documentation, and presentations.
  • Exposure to VBA, SQL, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Exposure to reserving methods and tools to structure, access, and manage data sets for modeling and managing risk.
  • Preferred experience with ResQ or similar actuarial modeling software.
