Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time consultant with expertise in protection coordination and arc flash analysis to join our dynamic team. This role involves providing consulting services to the energy sector across various regions. The successful candidate will work independently within a local team of engineers while receiving support from our international team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct protection coordination and arc flash studies.
  • Perform additional power system analyses, including grid code compliance assessments.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Manage projects effectively, overseeing financial and resource aspects.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Progress towards registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to engage with clients and foster long-term relationships.
  • Proficient problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience with network modeling and analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with substation design drawings and protection settings.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree in engineering.
  • Experience with IED configuration and protection commissioning.
  • Knowledge of South African transmission and distribution systems.
  • Experience in writing proposals and negotiating terms with clients.
