Job Title: Support and Respite Coordinator

Thrive Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Support and Respite Coordinator to lead and develop a high-quality service for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management:
    • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children and young people.
    • Oversee the delivery of safe, compliant, and enriching experiences, meeting regulatory requirements and promoting equality of opportunity.
    • Develop and implement the Strategic Development Plan (SDP), aligning with Thrive Group's vision and goals.
    • Manage and monitor the budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial management.
    • Oversee performance management, staff rotas, and placement allocation, ensuring seamless service delivery.
    • Ensure adequate staffing and recruitment practices, maintaining a skilled and dedicated team.
    • Develop and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and budget targets, driving service excellence.
    • Identify and implement training needs, leading the Training Plan and promoting professional development.
    • Generate income and opportunities through partnerships, enhancing the service's sustainability.
    • Uphold and update policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct risk assessments, fire plans, and drills, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Operational Responsibilities:
    • Be present on-site during sessions, ensuring the smooth operation of all activities.
    • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all sessions, maintaining a high standard of service delivery.
    • Drive the minibus and arrange transport logistics, ensuring timely and safe transportation.
    • Handle invoicing and provide data to finance, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
    • Assess and place children and young people, liaising with families and external agencies to ensure seamless transitions.
    • Ensure accurate and up-to-date placement information, maintaining a comprehensive database.
    • Manage internal and external review meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
    • Oversee Individual Support Plans and behaviour management interventions, promoting positive outcomes.
    • Ensure proper administration of medication, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
    • Incorporate children and young people's views into the development of the provision, ensuring their voices are heard.
    • Maintain positive relationships with families, management, and external agencies, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
    • Ensure compliance with Ofsted registration requirements, maintaining a high standard of service delivery.
    • Maintain the safety and upkeep of the building and grounds, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Childcare, or similar, demonstrating a strong foundation in the field.
  • Minimum Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy, ensuring effective communication and record-keeping.
  • Mandatory Safeguarding training, ensuring a deep understanding of safeguarding practices.
  • Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in an education or care setting, demonstrating a strong track record of service delivery.
  • Strong ICT skills and decision-making abilities, ensuring effective management and leadership.
  • Experience in team management and training, promoting professional development and service excellence.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and Ofsted regulations, ensuring compliance and best practice.
  • Budget management experience, ensuring effective financial management and resource allocation.
  • Experience with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and complex medical needs, demonstrating a strong understanding of diverse needs.
