Structural Engineering Technician

Shorterm Group is seeking to hire a Structural Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team.

This full-time, permanent role offers flexible working arrangements.

As part of a diverse range of projects, you will engage in sectors such as Healthcare, Renewable Energy, Heritage, Commercial, Industrial, and Hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a skilled team of engineers and Revit/CAD technicians.
  • Produce and oversee coordinated 3D BIM models utilizing Revit, transforming sketches and design information into engineering models and drawings.
  • Leverage BIM technologies in both cloud and managed systems to create precise engineering drawings for critical project phases including conception, planning, tender, building warrant, and construction.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Possess an HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Technician in Building Structures.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650 principles, BIM templates, BEPs, and collaborative information management software.
  • Experience with digital platforms, particularly BIM360 and its collaborative modules (training will be provided).
  • Strong practical experience using Revit in a similar role focused on building structures.
  • Experience in large energy transmission and distribution projects is advantageous, though experience in large energy and heavy industrial projects is also valuable as these skills are transferable.
