Job Description

Job Title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Unity City Academy. As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching staff in the development and education of pupils with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 SEN support to pupils, including the provision of specialist skills as appropriate.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans for pupils with SEN.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, including preparing materials and resources.
  • Support pupils with their daily living skills, including personal care and mobility.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with SEN children/young people.
  • Experience working within an educational environment.
  • Maths and English at GCSE C or Level 2 functional skills is essential.
  • A teaching assistant or SEN-based qualification would be advantageous.
  • Patience, compassion, and an ability to motivate and communicate effectively with pupils and staff is also required.
