Job Title: Structural Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team at AKT II in Shoreditch, London. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural design solutions for a wide range of projects, from commercial and retail to industrial and education sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out structural surveys and provide initial advice on potential issues.
  • Prepare conceptual and outline designs for structural schemes, working closely with the wider team.
  • Develop detailed design calculations to British Standards and Eurocodes, using relevant 3D software packages.
  • Produce detailed design drawings and specifications for tender purposes.
  • Respond to client requests for information and support the production of construction information for issue to contractors.
  • Visit sites during the construction phase to monitor progress and provide advice to contractors.
  • Provide day-to-day support to colleagues from other disciplines within the office.
Requirements:
  • Experience of structural design in concrete and steel structures, as well as other structural materials.
  • Proficiency in design and analysis software, including Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Ability to work constructively in a team, finding holistic building design solutions.
  • Good analytical skills and computer literacy.
  • Experience of working with CDM Regulations and designers' responsibilities.
