POSITION SUMMARY
Oversee daily operations of the bar/lounge and supervise staff. This role involves promoting the lounge, planning menus, maintaining standards, assisting servers during busy periods, and managing liquor inventories and controls. The aim is to ensure guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget. Responsible for enforcing all legal obligations consistently and professionally. Identifies training needs to achieve objectives and implements plans accordingly. Strengthens the food and beverage team by providing assistance in other areas as required.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related field.
OR
A 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field; 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related field.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing Bar/Lounge Operations
Implements established beverage policies and procedures throughout the establishment.
Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal beverage and liquor regulations.
Understands beverage control, including inventory management, portion control, cost management, and sales analysis.
Monitors adherence to all liquor control policies and procedures.
Participates in pre- and post-event meetings to understand group requirements.
Comprehends budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to assist in financial management.
Aims to manage departmental expenses to meet or exceed budgetary goals.
Ensures compliance with all bar/lounge policies, standards, and procedures.
Maintains food handling and sanitation standards.
Manages inventories in line with budget and business demands.
Assists in menu development and promotional activities as necessary.
Leading Bar/Lounge Team
Trains staff on liquor control policies and procedures.
Supervises staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
Ensures employees understand expectations and guidelines.
Communicates essential information to the bar/lounge staff regarding events.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
Delivers outstanding customer service.
Engages with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels.
Responds effectively to guest issues and complaints.
Empowers employees to provide exceptional customer service.
Emphasizes guest satisfaction in all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
Provides constructive feedback to individuals to enhance service performance.
Reviews guest feedback and satisfaction results with employees.
Managing Human Resource Activities
Supports a departmental orientation program for new employees to receive the necessary training to perform their roles effectively.
Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans as needed.
