About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our team at Suffolk County Council. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with learning difficulties to live independently in their own home and participate in activities within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to the individual, including assistance with daily living tasks and activities of daily living.
  • Assist the individual in participating in community activities, such as swimming, bike riding, sailing, bowling, and dog walking.
  • Support the individual in maintaining their independence and autonomy, while also ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including healthcare professionals and social workers, to ensure the individual receives comprehensive support.
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the individual, built on trust, respect, and open communication.
Requirements
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to provide personal care and support, including assistance with daily living tasks and activities of daily living.
  • Experience working with individuals with learning difficulties, an advantage.
  • DBS check required prior to appointment.
