The Venue
Our venue is a cutting-edge music and events facility designed to accommodate up to 4,000 attendees. It serves as a hub for concerts and live performances, featuring a variety of bars, lounges, premium seating, and hospitality suites.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of technical and production elements for events hosted at our venue. This position entails supporting the technical setup for all events, managing venue transitions, and providing on-the-spot maintenance during event operations. The selected individual will oversee the house crew during transitions, consistently ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the technical execution of events in the main auditorium and all associated breakout areas.
- Provide support during events, including load-ins and load-outs, while acting as the event engineer responsible for temporary power installations, sound and lighting system operations, and immediate maintenance as needed.
- Collaborate with promoters, tour managers, and event organizers to advance events at our venue.
- Assist the senior technician in developing and delivering training for relevant personnel.
- Support the senior technician in maintaining necessary risk assessments and safe working practices in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by method statements and safe working procedures.
- Foster a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with ASM Global's Health and Safety policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in an event-driven environment, preferably within a similar multi-purpose venue.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in troubleshooting and repairs.
- Understanding of Health and Safety considerations related to production and stage management.
- Experience in maintaining technical equipment to high standards, both proactively and reactively.
- Proficient in IT, including familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Commitment to service excellence and a desire to lead by example.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to live events.
- Understanding of electrical safety protocols pertinent to the live events sector.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AutoCAD for interpreting technical drawings.
- Experience with DANTE audio networks.
- Knowledge of event lighting systems, including DMX, Art-Net, and sACN.
- Recent training in counterbalance Forklift Truck operation.
- Awareness of BS7909 standards regarding electrical systems and willingness to pursue further training.
Additional Information:
This role may require working evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as well as engaging in physical labor tasks, including manual handling. There may also be opportunities to work at other venues managed by ASM Global.
