ASM Global is seeking a skilled Technician to join our team at Connexin Live in Hull. As a Technician, you will play a crucial role in the effective delivery of technical and production aspects of events at the venue.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the technical delivery of events in the main auditorium and associated breakout spaces.
- Support event delivery, load in and load outs, and act as event engineer, including installation of temporary power, operation of sound and lighting systems, and reactive maintenance.
- Assist in advancing events, liaising with promoters, tour managers, and event organizers.
- Support the senior technician in developing and delivering training for relevant staff.
- Maintain relevant risk assessments and safe systems of work in line with Health and Safety Legislation and approved codes of practice.
- Ensure the use of PPE when required for working activities in line with method statements and safe systems of work.
- Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure all work activities comply with ASM Global Health and Safety policies.
- Experience working in an events-based environment, ideally in a similar multi-purpose space with a mixed program.
- Ability to work without supervision and take responsibility for problem-solving, fault-finding, and repairs as required.
- Awareness of Health and Safety issues regarding production and stage production.
- Experience of maintaining technical equipment to a high standard, both proactively and reactively.
- Excellent IT knowledge, including use of MS Office packages.
- Passion for service delivery standards and keen to lead by example.
- Working knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to live events.
- Understanding of electrical safety relevant to the live events industry.
- Experience in the use of AutoCAD to interpret technical drawings.
- Experience of DANTE audio networks.
- Experience of event lighting, including DMX, Art-Net, and sACN.
- Recent counterbalance Forklift Truck training.
- Knowledge of BS7909 in relation to electrical systems and willingness to undertake further training.
Due to the nature of the role, there will be a requirement to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays. The role will involve physical labor tasks, including manual handling. There may be a requirement to work at other venues operated by ASM Global.
