Are you an experienced procurement expert with a strong background in material acquisition, planning, and supply chain operations? Do you excel in a fast-paced environment and possess a keen interest in enhancing inventory management and supplier partnerships? In the role of Senior Procurement Specialist, you will be instrumental in the continuous sourcing of materials, components, and equipment.
Your responsibilities will include forecasting needs and overseeing the supply chain to guarantee timely deliveries that align with customer requirements.
Additionally, you will act as a deputy to the Head of Supply Chain, offering support and direction to the Purchasing Team as necessary.
Leadership and Direction:
Establish and communicate departmental objectives for the Purchasing division, conducting regular meetings to update on the progress of key initiatives.
Procurement Strategy:
Organize, schedule, and oversee the acquisition of goods and services to fulfill production needs utilizing methodologies such as Just-In-Time (JIT), Kanban, and Blanket Purchase Orders.
Stock Management:
Ensure precise ordering and prompt delivery of raw materials, components, and production supplies. Oversee inventory and safety stock levels to enhance service performance.
Data Oversight:
Set up and maintain material, supplier, and planning system data within the MRP/ERP framework.
Performance Evaluation:
Utilize Excel to develop pivot charts and pinpoint critical areas for supplier performance enhancement. Collaborate with the supply base to ensure material availability, addressing gaps in availability, capacity, quality, and cost. Accurately report essential metrics such as supplier delivery performance.
Negotiate transportation costs, Incoterms, and payment conditions to optimize margins and cash flow.
Regulatory Compliance:
Comply with all policies and regulations related to product sourcing and advocate for supplier partnership protocols and practices.
Extensive experience in material procurement and planning within a manufacturing or distribution context.
Strong expertise in supply chain management and inventory oversight.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
A proven history of cost reduction, lead time minimization, and enhancement of delivery conditions.
This position offers avenues for professional advancement and development within a supportive and dynamic work environment.
