We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Support Specialist to join our team at Edge Careers. As a Design Support Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting our senior design managers in delivering high-quality design services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Support: Assist senior design managers in managing project design resources and team profiles at bid and delivery stages.
- Design Coordination: Support the senior design manager in leading and providing a professional, comprehensive, and sustainable design service for customers and key partners/suppliers at bid and delivery stages.
- Design Process Management: Manage and coordinate agreed specific elements of the design process through the RIBA design stages, challenging those elements of the brief and bringing fresh thinking, innovation, and implementing continuous improvement benefits to projects at bid and delivery stages.
- Design Compliance: Ensure understanding and compliance with design management departmental procedures at bid and delivery stages.
- Design Team Support: Assist the Senior Design Manager in setting up and agreeing design management regimes with the design team.
- Design Brief Development: Ensure adherence to the design brief/scope of service and develop a comprehensive scope of service for key stages of projects.
- Design Reviews and Coordination: Assist with design reviews and coordination meetings.
- Design Strategy Implementation: Assist with the implementation of the design strategy to deliver coordinated human resources - recruitment design solutions.
- Design Programme Production: Assist in the production of fully coordinated design programmes.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor progress against programme and report to the project team.
- Design Review Establishment: Establish the need for and input into design reviews.
Requirements:
- BSc/HND/HNC in a relevant technical or architectural discipline.
- 3-4 years' experience with design development/architecture in the construction industry.
- Experience in the main contracting market – ideally with Education/Healthcare schemes.
