Queens View Harbour Care Home is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team.

This luxurious, private care facility is situated in a picturesque harbour town and offers elegant accommodation for up to 56 residents, along with outstanding Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite care.

As Executive Chef, you will be responsible for organizing and controlling the efficient and economic production of high-quality food within the allocated budget, day-to-day kitchen management, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Executive Chef Contract

      Competitive salary: £13.80 per hour

      40 hours per week

      Company pension

      5.6 weeks annual leave

      Uniform provided

      Onsite parking

      PVG paid

Key Responsibilities

      Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals, as and when required.

      Liaise with the Home Manager to plan and cost menus, providing a balanced and nutritious diet that makes the best use of available fresh foods.

      Supervise and instruct kitchen staff members in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures, providing guidance and support as needed.

      Conduct Basic Food Hygiene training for all care staff involved in handling and delivery of food.

      Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.

      Maintain accurate records of food supplies and freezer/fridge temperatures.

      Ensure stock rotation and assist in the ordering of stocks and checking of deliveries.

      Prepare staff rota for the kitchen.

      Interview new staff members with the Home Manager as needed.

      Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.

      Ensure all crockery and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area and dining areas is carried out effectively.

Requirements

      City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)

      Team player with good communication skills.

      Ability to work on own initiative and provide guidance to others.

      Previous management or supervisory experience is desirable.

      Experience of food preparation for the relevant Service User group is essential.

      Experience working in a care environment is advantageous but not a requirement.
