Your Role: Machine Learning Researcher

We are seeking a talented and driven Machine Learning Researcher to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in advancing the capabilities of ASSISTments, a leading online math homework platform used by educators and students worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of machine learning infrastructure powering ASSISTments. Your expertise in areas such as machine learning, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing (LLM) will be instrumental in enhancing the platform's effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with Dr. Neil Heffernan, Principal Investigator, and his research team to design, implement, and evaluate cutting-edge educational technologies.
  • Gain valuable experience in grant writing by assisting Dr. Heffernan in securing funding for future projects. This hands-on experience will significantly enhance your professional profile.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Computer Science, Information Sciences, Data Science, or a closely related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for applying machine learning to real-world challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working in a collaborative research environment and contributing to team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the K-12 education sector is highly desirable.
