Research Scientist for A Machine Learning/LLM Role with the ASSISTments Project
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The successful candidate will have a strong background in machine learning and education, and will be responsible for managing the machine-learning infrastructure behind the ASSISTments platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the machine-learning infrastructure behind ASSISTments
- Learn and hone grant-writing skills with Dr. Neil Heffernan
- Work with Dr. Heffernan's PhD students and their teams in building out the infrastructure
Requirements:
- PhD in computer science, information sciences, or data science or a related field
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience coordinating cross-team projects and managing timelines and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in K-12 education organizations
- Experience working in a team environment
