Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Motor Injury Claims Handler to join our team. As a key member of our claims handling team, you will be responsible for managing claims through various portals, negotiating policyholder and third-party claims to settlement, and communicating with brokers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Applying our company's reserving philosophy to ensure accurate claims assessments.
  • Managing claims through applicable portals, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Negotiating policyholder and third-party claims to settlement, including personal injury claims.
  • Communicating effectively with brokers to ensure seamless claim handling.
  • Instructing and liaising with solicitors and adjusters from our agreed panel.
  • Assisting with internal and external audit processes to maintain compliance and quality standards.
  • Liaising with underwriters on claims issues to ensure accurate risk assessment and mitigation.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Knowledge of coverage's, benefits, and exclusions to ensure accurate claims assessments.
  • A good understanding of legal liability and supporting case law to inform claims decisions.
  • An understanding and application of legal and regulatory issues relating to policy wordings.
  • An understanding of the MoJ reforms, RTA, and Credit Hire to ensure compliance and effective claims handling.
  • An understanding and application of standard processes and procedures to maintain efficiency and quality.
  • Experience of personal injury evaluation tools to inform claims assessments.
  • Experience of handling PI claims in both portals and outside to ensure effective claim handling.
