Procurement Supply Chain Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Supply Chain Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for managing a multi-million pound spend profile, covering a specific spend area. This could include direct spend on body, powertrain, chassis, electrical, or indirect spend on corporate services such as HR, travel, facilities management, catering, and IT.

You will be expected to define and implement category strategies for each of your key spend areas, delivering against the overall department savings plan and other key performance targets. This will involve running strategic sourcing projects, tender processes, negotiations, contract awards, and supplier relationship management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a multi-million pound spend profile, covering a specific spend area
  • Define and implement category strategies for each key spend area
  • Run strategic sourcing projects, tender processes, negotiations, contract awards, and supplier relationship management
  • Build excellent relationships with key departmental stakeholders, guiding and advising on procurement best practice
  • Deliver high-quality goods and services, meeting business needs and expectations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience of full lifecycle procurement, ideally with strategic responsibility for direct spend in a fast-moving manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of best practice procurement and a good track record of delivering savings
  • Experience of working with both domestic and international suppliers
  • Ability to travel both in the UK and overseas when needed
