Job Summary
The Bodmin CATU is a sub-acute frailty unit dedicated to providing a multidisciplinary team approach for the comprehensive management of individuals living with frailty and related medical conditions. As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for leading our medical team and working closely with senior nurses to provide advanced medical decision-making for CATU inpatients.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide advanced medical decision-making for CATU inpatients in collaboration with senior nurses.
- Offer medical guidance and leadership in the MDT management of patients.
- Participate in advanced care planning and end-of-life care.
- Oversee and contribute to the education and training of junior doctors, medical students, ANPs, and other AHPs.
- Communicate with patients, families, and carers about their medical care.
- Coordinate with other medical specialties for specialist advice when necessary.
- Engage in governance, addressing incidents, fostering learning, handling complaints, and other processes.
