We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Aftercare Team Leader at Next Steps Aftercare Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the manager and ensuring the delivery of an outstanding support and accommodation service to young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the manager in the day-to-day running of a 4-bed, 24-hour service, ensuring it operates smoothly and efficiently.
- Provide high-quality written and verbal communication to stakeholders, including young people, families, and external agencies.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive accommodation and support package for young people, tailored to their individual needs and goals.
- Collaborate with external agencies to promote and achieve the best outcomes for young people in our service.
- Support young people in making the transition from care to independent living in the community, providing guidance and resources as needed.
- Facilitate the acquisition of self-care and interpersonal skills, enabling young people to work towards their own tenancy.
- Implement therapeutic parenting using the PACE (Playfulness; Acceptance, Curiosity; and Empathy) model, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
- Work in accordance with the Statement of Purpose, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in individual needs and risk assessments, as well as support reviews, to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people.
- Attend meetings and support young people in decision-making processes.
- Provide regular reports, information, and statistics to stakeholders, as required.
- Ensure that individual Pathways are adhered to, promoting a seamless transition to independent living.
- At least 18 months of experience in a position relevant to the supported accommodation of young people or residential care of young people within the last 2 years.
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent, with a commitment to pursuing a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification.
- Profound knowledge and understanding of key documents, including:
- The Children Leaving Care Act 2000
- The Children's Act 1989 Guidance and Regulations (Volume 3 Planning Transition to Adulthood for Care Leavers and includes The Care Leavers (England) Regulations 2010)
- Health and Social Care Act 2008
- Additional requirements include:

- LAC Reviews
- Section 20 Care Orders
- Attending Court
- Ability to work a full-time 40-hour schedule, including day shifts, night shifts, and sleep-ins, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
