Senior Social Worker

The Royal Borough of Kingston's vision is to be one of the best places to live and work. As a Senior Social Worker - Adults, you will play a key role in delivering this vision by providing effective professional social work provision across Adult Social Care.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of customers and carers with complex needs.
- Provide professional supervision to qualified and non-qualified staff.
- Conduct practice assessments and provide education for social work students.
- Maintain professional qualifications, memberships, and registrations.
- Ensure staff and public safety by preventing and diffusing difficult situations.
- Carry out MHA assessments and participate in the AMHP rota.
- Identify the least restrictive option and act as an autonomous professional.
- Engage and support Nearest Relatives when undertaking statutory work.
- Demonstrable understanding of adult social care principles and application.
- Experience in a similar role in a Local Authority.
- Experience using case-based ICT systems.
- Minimum 1 year experience working in Mental Health settings.
- Relevant Post-Qualifying award (e.g. Practice Teaching PQ Award).
- Minimum 1 year experience as a qualified practitioner.
- AMHP qualification and BIA Assessor training or willingness to undertake.
- Education to degree level with relevant professional qualification.
- Qualified AMHP or willingness to train as an Approved Mental Health Professional.
- DBS required.
- Hybrid working policy.
