About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Business Partner to join our team at Katie Loxton. As an HR Business Partner, you will play a key role in supporting the office teams to follow Company HR processes within the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures: Ensure that all HR processes are followed in accordance with Company policies and procedures, internal HR processes, legislation, and ACAS best practice.
  • Provide comprehensive advice and support: Provide expert advice and support to employees and line managers on all HR matters throughout the employee lifecycle, balancing both the needs of employees and the business.
  • Coach and mentor line managers: Coach, mentor, and empower line managers to confidently take ownership of all areas of people management, performance management, and absence management.
  • Support employee relations cases: Provide proactive support to employee relations cases from start to end, coaching and advising managers to ensure that they act in line with employment law, Company policies, and procedures.
  • Escalate high-risk cases: Escalate any high-risk cases to the relevant HR Business Partner in a timely manner to ensure best practice is followed.
  • Own key employee lifecycle processes: Take ownership of key employee lifecycle processes, including new starters, probation, absence, leavers, and capturing key data through regular reporting.
  • Conduct employee check-ins and exit interviews: Conduct employee check-in calls and exit interviews, sharing relevant feedback with department leaders and suggesting areas for improvement.
  • Support HR policy and process reviews: Support the HR management team with periodic HR policy and process reviews to ensure they are efficient, fit for purpose, and compliant with employment law changes.
  • Maintain and improve HRIS and reward platforms: Maintain and continuously suggest and implement areas of improvement within the HRIS and Company's reward and recognition platform.
  • Develop good working relationships: Develop good working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws: Ensure consistent compliance with data protection laws and UK employment legislation in all situations.
  • Support L&D initiatives: Continuously seek ways to educate teams and management on best practice through supporting L&D initiatives, identifying and suggesting training needs, and championing policies and procedures.
  • Complete administration tasks: Take full responsibility for completing administration tasks on time with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Support H&S initiatives: Conduct maternity risk assessments and support H&S initiatives where required.
  • Stay up-to-date with employment law: Keep up to date with the latest employment law, legislation, and regulations to ensure compliance at all times.
Requirements
  • CIPD Level 5 or qualifying experience: Hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification or have equivalent experience in HR.
  • Experience in HR: Have experience working in a HR team and a working knowledge of employee relations processes.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills: Possess excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work efficiently to complete a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to work independently: Be able to work confidently without line manager present on site.
  • Good knowledge of GDPR laws: Have good knowledge of GDPR laws and be comfortable handling confidential information.
  • Knowledge of current employment legislation: Have knowledge of current employment legislation and an understanding of how it is applied in practice.
  • Excellent communication skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations in a tactful and professional manner.
  • Positive attitude and attention to detail: Have a positive, approachable attitude and a diligent attention to detail.
  • Emotional intelligence and resilience: Be emotionally intelligent, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong initiative and logical thinking: Possess strong initiative, be a quick learner, and have the ability to apply learnings to different HR scenarios.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite: Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft suite.
What We Offer
  • Salary: A salary of £30,000 - £35,000 DOE.
  • Holiday entitlement: 25 days holiday rising to 27 with length of service, plus bank holiday.
