Job Title: Lead Family Services Specialist

Join the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Lead Family Services Specialist and play a critical role in supporting the Child Protective Services (CPS) program. As a leader in our team, you will be responsible for providing case management to a small caseload, orienting new staff, supervising the team in the absence of the supervisor, and ensuring data compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide case management to a small caseload
  • Orient new staff and supervise the team in the absence of the supervisor
  • Ensure data compliance and provide support to staff
  • Supervise support staff and assist in planning and developing policies and procedures
  • Represent the department on the Family Assessment Planning Team (FAPT)
  • Prepare closed cases for appeal and review court reports completed by staff
  • Attend training designed for professional growth and enhancing job performance
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or human services field
  • Two years of experience in human services required
  • Master's degree in social work preferred
  • Three years minimum of Child Protective Services experience desired
