About the Role...

Poundland is in search of an IT Project Manager to enhance our operations. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring the effective execution of various technology-driven projects, meeting deadlines, budget constraints, and quality benchmarks. Acting as the primary connection between business stakeholders, IT departments, and external vendors, you will oversee the comprehensive management of projects, directly influencing our organizational objectives and strategies.

This position allows for hybrid working, requiring 2-3 days on-site each week.

Your Responsibilities...

As an IT Project Manager at Poundland, your role will be vital in aligning technological projects with our business goals. Your responsibilities will include:


• Project Leadership: Oversee and execute a variety of IT projects from initiation to completion, following our established IT Delivery Framework.


• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison between key business stakeholders, IT teams, and external suppliers, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.


• Scope Management: Define and manage project scope, ensuring alignment among all stakeholders regarding objectives and deliverables.


• Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of ongoing enhancement within project teams, promoting efficiency and effectiveness in project execution.


• Senior Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, challenges, and necessary support.


• Vendor Oversight: Monitor the performance of external suppliers, ensuring their outputs align with project objectives and timelines.


• PMO Development: Contribute to the continuous improvement of the IT Project Management Office (PMO) by sharing insights, refining processes, and mentoring team members.

Required Skills and Knowledge...

• Project Management Skills: Extensive experience in managing technology-focused projects in retail or similar dynamic settings, with a solid grasp of industry-standard project management methodologies.


• Stakeholder Management: Proven capability to manage diverse stakeholders in challenging environments.


• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of the interplay between technology and business needs, with experience across the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).


• Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful outcomes while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.


• Analytical Skills: Ability to think critically and make informed decisions, balancing time, quality, and cost considerations.
