Theatre HCA (FlexiBank) Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our small friendly Theatre team on a flexible bank basis. As a Theatre HCA, you will play a vital role in assisting theatre practitioners and consultants to provide the best possible care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the scrub nurse and surgeon during surgical procedures, monitoring and recording baseline clinical observations.
  • Ensure specimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessary paperwork completed.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of clinical waste collection, reporting any issues to the theatre manager or nurse in charge.
  • Ensure sharps bins are secure and ready for collection.
  • Restock clinical areas and support areas as needed.
  • Participate in audits and administrative tasks as required.
  • Assist the theatre team in maintaining accurate and legible patient notes.
  • Complete necessary documentation associated with patient care.
  • Support the nursing team in collecting and maintaining statistical information for reports.
  • Attend team meetings and participate in briefing and debriefing sessions as needed.
  • Assist in the management of surgical records and appointment systems.
  • Fulfill additional duties as reasonably requested and required.

Requirements:

  • Caring, patient, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Comprehensive written and verbal communication skills.
