About the Role

Menzies Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a General Airside Operative. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of aircraft at our airport locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • De-ice aircraft in accordance with company procedures and industry standards
  • Load and off-load baggage and cargo manually or mechanically
  • Conduct thorough baggage sorting duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform area hazard checks and aircraft inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Operate towing and pushback equipment, communicating effectively with flight deck personnel
  • Participate in aircraft turnaround processes, including baggage handling, loading, and offloading
  • Perform other duties related to aircraft handling and ground support, as required by the business

Safety, Security, and Compliance

You will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all relevant health and safety procedures. This includes reporting any hazards or incidents to your supervisor and participating in regular safety training and drills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor in a variety of weather conditions
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft handling and ground support procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
