About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of our residents to various outings and day trips.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Outings Coordinator and Care Home Activities Team to plan and execute daily transport schedules for residents.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections, documenting findings meticulously.
  • Provide assistance to residents in boarding and disembarking vehicles safely, adhering to mandatory moving and handling protocols.
  • Engage with residents during trips, offering support to carers and the activities team.
  • Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle fleet, ensuring regular cleaning and servicing.
  • Manage fuel levels and complete journey logs accurately.
  • Prioritize vehicle security by locking vehicles and activating alarms when parked.
  • Stay informed about tax and MOT certificate deadlines, communicating with the coordinator accordingly.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs.
  • Participate in mandatory training programs as required.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Possess a full, clean UK driving license.
  • Have good eyesight.
  • Demonstrate exceptional driving skills, patience, and responsibility.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills at all levels, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Maintain a professional and neat appearance.
  • Possess strong time management skills, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Be adaptable, flexible, and solution-oriented.
  • Pay meticulous attention to detail.
  • Work independently and take initiative.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Hold a PSV License and CPC qualification, with a D1/D1E entitlement.
  • Have previous experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • Possess experience driving groups of people.
  • Be familiar with wheelchair restraint systems and vehicle tail-lifts.
  • Hold a First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Have experience supporting individuals with dementia or various needs, including physical, developmental, behavioral/emotional, or sensory impairments.
