Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trading Standards Officer to join our team at Stirling Council. As a key member of our Regulatory Service, you will play a vital role in enforcing consumer protection and fair trading legislation, providing advice and guidance to businesses and consumers, and supporting the development of our officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce consumer protection and fair trading legislation, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to businesses and consumers on consumer protection and fair trading matters.
  • Support the development of our officers, sharing your expertise and experience to help them achieve their qualifications and career goals.
  • Contribute to the effective delivery of our Regulatory Service, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve positive outcomes for our local communities.

Requirements:

  • Be a fully qualified Trading Standards Officer with a strong understanding of consumer protection and fair trading legislation.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and locations.
  • Be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for children and adults.
