Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery, independence, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs, strengths, and challenges related to daily living activities, work, leisure, and social participation.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of each client, utilizing a range of therapeutic techniques and modalities.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to enhance clients' functional abilities, coping skills, and overall quality of life.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and continuity across inpatient and community-based services.
  • Delegate aspects of client care to assistants, junior staff, students, carers, and statutory or non-statutory bodies, ensuring appropriate supervision and guidance.
  • Utilize outcome measures and regular reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make necessary adjustments.
  • Stay abreast of current research and best practices in occupational therapy to provide high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional standards and local policies.
  • Contribute to clinical case discussions, meetings, audits, and research initiatives.
Essential Requirements:
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a relevant mental health setting
  • Experience in conducting individual interventions and group therapy sessions
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience working within a crisis team
