Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Croydon

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our partner Primary School in Croydon. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting two pupils in Year 1 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children with SEND. You will be working closely with the pupils, their families, and the school staff to provide individualized support and create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support two pupils with non-verbal Autism in Year 1
  • Assist with their learning in-class to help them remain focused, engaged, and on-task
  • Develop strategies to help deescalate challenging moments efficiently
  • Help to regulate the pupils and provide an inclusive environment where all children can fulfill their potential
Requirements
  • Ideal candidate has obtained a degree and has a passion for education/SEND
  • Previous experience working with SEND is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and resilience are essential
  • A never-give-up attitude is required to make a positive impact on the pupils' lives
