About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified individual to lead our Additional Support Needs team at Robert Gordon's College. As the Head of Department, you will be responsible for driving forward excellent teaching and learning in a supportive environment that caters to the individual needs of learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a large and committed team in delivering tailored support to learners with additional support needs
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance teaching and learning, ensuring seamless support for learners aged 3-18
  • Collaborate with teachers to provide individualized support and enable them to deliver effective support in lessons
  • Foster an environment that promotes leadership, curiosity, self-organisation, awareness, and resilience in learners
  • Report to the Joint Senior Leadership Team and contribute to the College's strategic objectives
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading a team and driving educational innovation
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education and support needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other stakeholders
