Job Role: Facilities Maintenance Operative

Location: HMP Whitemoor

Salary: £24,513.46

Contract: Full time/perm

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team at HMP Whitemoor, a High Security & Adult/Male prison. As a Facilities Maintenance Operative, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues who vary from Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, to Cleaners, and Administrators, and others, who are all dedicated to making a positive difference, providing a safe and secure environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of prison facilities, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
  • Work alongside facilities management professionals to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the prison.
  • Provide support to prisoners and staff, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the prison's building fabric, including cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a prison environment or a similar setting.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Previous experience of working within a building fabric or Hard FM environment.
  • Up-to-date First Aid at Work Qualification.
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills.
