About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Planning Officer to join our Planning Policy team on a fixed-term contract for up to one year. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering our ambitious plans for growth, giving you the opportunity to further your knowledge and experience in a senior position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our Local Plan, ensuring alignment with current planning issues and legislation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance our Planning Policy team's capabilities and deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and take responsibility for delivering against objectives.
  • Utilize strong IT skills, including experience with mapping and GIS tools, to support planning policy initiatives.
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level in planning or a related subject with eligibility for membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • Good knowledge and experience of current planning issues and legislation, including Local Plans, Section 106, and the Community Infrastructure Levy.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to bring clarity to complex information and motivate team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
