Job Summary

The Interdisciplinary Center Coordinator - Simulation and Clinical Skills Specialist is a full-time regular position at Southeast Community College. The successful candidate will provide professional coordination of simulation and clinical skills student experiences for Health Sciences Programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Simulation and Clinical Skills Coordination
    • Support simulations by preparing, creating, and testing scenarios with faculty instructors to ensure the simulator is in good working condition prior to the start of all simulations.
    • Establish and maintain effective workflows collaboratively to ensure smooth simulation operations and optimal learning environment.
    • Facilities management: room set-up and clean-up for clinical simulations and debriefings; accountable for having the room props, equipment, and other resources prepared for the scheduled simulation activity for faculty and students.
    • Inventory management within the IDC Center.
    • Identify, procure, and ensure all equipment, supplies, and space are prepared and available for simulation sessions.
    • Troubleshoot when equipment or systems malfunction and communicate consistently with the Dean, IT, and simulation maintenance.
    • Follow the division center scheduling system to ensure efficient use of space for training sessions, workshops, and other activities both internally and externally.
  • Support Learning
    • Onboard and train faculty and other center staff in the operational aspects of simulation.
    • Create and implement simulation learning experiences into the Health Sciences program curriculum.
    • Create and implement simulation learning experiences for external partners per their learning objectives.
    • Play a role in simulation teaching when needed.
    • Promote and communicate the center's mission and goals (provide information to faculty, staff, learners, and visitors concerning the functions of the Interdisciplinary Center).
  • Participate in College-wide and Division Activities
    • Take an active role in college-wide and Division teams voluntarily or assigned.
    • Serve on interview committees for employee candidates.
    • Represent the College in a professional and excellent manner at conferences, meetings, and other functions as requested by the College or an outside agency such as a professional organization.
  • Function as a Member of the Division Team
    • Demonstrate all the attributes and qualities expected of students such as dependability, punctuality, positive attitude, confidentiality, professional appearance, and professional and ethical conduct.
    • Abide by the philosophy, rules, and guidelines of the division or work to adapt them through the proper channels of authority and communication.
    • Prepare for, attend, and contribute to division and college meetings.
    • Take responsibility for meeting annual college requirements for diversity and safety training.
    • Participate in division activities by supplying information, data, and time for; curriculum development, budget preparation, new faculty orientation, class schedules, long-range planning, and other required reports and activities.
  • Promote/Support Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Access
    • Work toward creating a welcoming, inclusive, equitable, and productive work and learning environment, where all students, faculty members, and college employees are valued and may contribute to their full potential, regardless of their differences.
