Role Overview:
The Northampton facility is engaged in the design and production of a diverse range of cooling systems and associated components, including radiators and charge air coolers. As one of the foremost manufacturers of industrial radiators globally, we produce over 35,000 units annually for clients in the power generation, off-highway, and construction sectors worldwide. This role presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading organization that prioritizes innovation and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production methodologies and protocols.
- Drive productivity enhancements through project-based initiatives, including new product launches and manufacturing cell configurations aimed at minimizing waste.
- Enhance quality and safety standards while lowering operational expenses.
- Oversee KPIs and ensure proactive measures are taken to optimize outcomes.
- Design necessary fixtures and tooling to facilitate consistent processes.
- Assist in the organization of shop floor layouts and cell designs, and generate production documentation such as PFMEA, CP, and process instructions.
- Introduce and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) at critical stages of the production process.
- Ensure that product and process quality adheres to specified standards.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficient in aluminium brazing techniques (CAB and Vacuum) and materials, including fluxes, with a minimum of 5 years of experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing lean tools and techniques, coupled with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to effectively present data.
- Familiarity with business metrics management (OEE, COPQ, DLE, TAKT, Cycle Times, etc.).
- Strong team collaboration skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in metallurgy or related fields.
- Knowledge of capital expenditure forming.
- Six Sigma training.
- Proven project management expertise.
Educational Background:
- Preferred degree in manufacturing or engineering, or equivalent qualifications such as A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technician Diploma, or NVQ Level 3.
- Experience with FMEA, Kaizen/A3 processes, and Poka Yoke techniques.
- Understanding of design and production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and rework.
