Position Overview

Alfanar Projects is at the forefront of developing a groundbreaking Advanced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) initiative, representing a significant investment in innovative technology. As we progress through the various phases of this ambitious project, we are looking for a skilled professional to join our team in a pivotal role.

Role Title: Lead Process Engineer - Utilities and Power Generation

This position is essential as we expand our team to accommodate the growing demands of the project and transition from the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) stage to the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Utilities and Power Generation aspects of Alfanar's innovative sustainable aviation fuel project.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in Utilities & Power Generation systems.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of various utilities and power generation technologies, including major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate expertise in systems such as compressed air, fuel gas, high/medium/low-pressure steam, cooling water, power generation (including gas and steam turbines), wastewater management, and flare systems.
  • Conduct Process Safety assessments for assigned process packages, including Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), and Layers of Protection Analysis (LoPA).
  • Manage relationships with major OEMs and equipment/package vendors associated with the Area Process Lead. Facilitate reviews of process engineering deliverables and support interface management.

Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience, with several years in a senior or leadership capacity.
  • Proven expertise in utilities and power generation systems.
  • Experience with biomass power and gasification projects is preferred.
  • Background in complex EPC projects within the energy, biomass, or oil & gas sectors.
  • Possession of an engineering degree.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A proactive and self-motivated individual.
