The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in corporate governance across the Coventry University Group, which operates within a highly regulated and competitive higher education environment.

About the Role

The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with company and charitable law, maintaining a register of Directors' interests, and ensuring submission of annual statutory returns, annual reports, auditor's reports, and financial statements to Companies House and other regulators as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide governance and procedural advice to the Chair of the Board of Governors, Vice-Chancellor, Chairs of sister company Boards, and Directors in respect of their duties and responsibilities in accordance with relevant legislation to ensure legal compliance.
  • Lead a team of experienced individuals in ensuring effective governance across the Group.
  • Develop and implement effective governance policies and procedures to ensure the Group operates in line with best practice.
  • Ensure the Group's compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including company and charitable law.
Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate considerable experience in corporate governance and company administration at a senior level, possessing strong knowledge and understanding of the law and practice relating to company administration and governance requirements, preferably relating to the operation and management of a higher education institution.
