Prospero Teaching is seeking experienced Teachers/Tutors to deliver personalized tuition to young people in need of academic support within the Kent area.
The Role
As an Outreach Tutor, you will be responsible for creating and delivering tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupils' education and enhance their attainment levels. This role is ideal for experienced educators looking to provide one-on-one, engaging lessons that cater to individual needs.
Many of these pupils have been out of education for some time, which may have impacted their confidence levels. Your task will be to re-engage them in learning and provide structure to their daily routine.
We work closely with our tutors to monitor pupil progress through weekly reports, focusing on achievements, challenges, and subject areas covered. We also require you to highlight engagement levels to ensure the sessions are beneficial to the young person.
The students requiring support often have Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Tuition typically takes place at the pupils' homes within the Kent area. A strong background in supporting SEN pupils with autism, SEMH, and complex needs is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one tuition to pupils in need of academic support
- Create and implement tailored lesson plans to cater to individual needs
- Monitor pupil progress and provide regular reports
- Highlight engagement levels and make adjustments as necessary
Requirements:
- UK classroom teaching experience
- Ability to think creatively and work with SEND or disengaged pupils
- Experience working as a tutor or in a similar role
- Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate or willingness to process a new application
- Right to work in the UK
