The Clinical Review Officer will play a key role in the Clinical Review Team, working within the Acute Services portfolio. The Team delivers comprehensive clinical reports to meet commissioner targets for placement reviews and the Trust's rehabilitation and repatriation agendas.

The post involves taking a lead role in organising and undertaking specialist clinical assessments as an autonomous practitioner. The post-holder will also have responsibility for directing and supervising the work and skill development of the Clinical Review Team to meet the changing needs of the service.

The post holder will also be responsible for developing repatriation or onward pathway plans for all those assessed within the original priority groupings received from commissioners or in other settings.

The post holder will be a resource of enhanced clinical knowledge and competence in the service area, modelling the required standards and supporting others to achieve them.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regard to implementation and development of policies and procedures relevant to service delivery within their area of responsibility.

They will also be expected to act within their level of authority and legal requirements for maintaining confidentiality in healthcare, ensuring that their actions and those of others reduce risks to health and safety, and promoting people's equality, diversity, and rights.

The post holder will be required to work in an agile manner in response to the needs of the service, regularly using a computer, and being exposed to unpleasant working conditions, including verbal aggression and high dependency/secure service areas.

They will also be required to have a current full driving licence and be a car owner/driver to support their role.
