Job Summary:

RPS Group is seeking an experienced Principal Civil or Highway Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for leading the production of 3D models using Civil 3D modeling software and ensuring the technical requirements of projects are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the production of 3D models using Civil 3D modeling software
  • Produce drawings from 3D models
  • Coordinate the production of detailed drawings and specifications
  • Perform project and drawing/model reviews
  • Review design calculations and basis of design assumptions
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the team
  • Prepare technical specifications and reports
  • Ensure high-quality design output and oversee the quality of technical/design output of junior colleagues
  • Review and comment on consultants' and contractors' design proposals
  • Ensure team compliance with BIM protocols and office drawing standards
  • Support the Director with tender/bid document preparation and scope of service/fee proposal activity
  • Attend and contribute to project and client meetings and site inspections

Requirements:

  • Chartered or Incorporated with a relevant professional body
  • Relevant degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent Level 6 qualification
  • Proficient in creating Civil 3D models and extracting sections and quantities
  • Experience in the Aviation and/or Highways sector and knowledge of industry design guides
  • Experience in the application of relevant design software
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • Experience in line management and project management
