RPS is actively seeking a skilled Senior Civil / Highway Technician to enhance our dynamic organization and support our clientele. This position will be part of the infrastructure division, which may encompass projects related to Aviation or Highways.
About Our Design Division:
The RPS Design Division executes projects across various specialized sectors, including Aviation, Highways, Civil Engineering, Structures, and Architecture. We aim to strike the right balance between aesthetics and functionality while addressing competing priorities such as sustainability, material selection, cost, and constructability. Our commitment to digitalization is central to our delivery model, enabling clients and stakeholders to engage with our designs from the initial concept phase. By leveraging decades of expertise across multiple industries and disciplines, we assist clients in harmonizing design objectives through innovative engineering, architecture, and development services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of 3D models utilizing Civil 3D software.
- Transform 3D drawings into comprehensive designs.
- As the project lead, effectively coordinate the generation of detailed drawings and specifications, applying expert technical knowledge in accordance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate on design models, calculations, and sketches with other engineering disciplines.
- Oversee drawing production and ensure quality control of colleagues' work.
- Review design proposals from consultants and contractors.
- Manage document uploads and downloads within document management systems.
- Comply with BIM protocols and office drawing standards.
- Participate in project and technical meetings.
- Conduct site inspections and produce surveys as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the Aviation or Highways sector and hold a HND qualification.
Additionally, you should possess:
- Proficiency in creating Civil 3D models and extracting sections and quantities from these models.
- Experience with CAD drawing, 3D modeling, and BIM coordination.
- Ability to utilize relevant design analysis software.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of applicable legislation and standards.
- Commercial awareness regarding time and budget implications.
