Job Opportunity: Supporting Children with Special Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant at a specialist school near Bishop's Stortford.

About the Role

This is a full-time, temporary to permanent opportunity (8:30am - 3:30pm) that requires no prior school experience. We welcome graduates, support workers, healthcare assistants, youth workers, or individuals with personal experience working with children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in small groups or one-to-one basis to enhance engagement, interaction, and attainment.
  • Develop and learn LSA skills to provide high-quality support.
  • Collaborate with parents to ensure consistency between school and home environments.
  • Employ a friendly and positive approach to teaching and learning, building strong relationships with individual children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent at a later date.

We offer FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers. All candidates must undergo or have undergone a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
