Job Opportunity: Supporting Children with Special Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant at a specialist school near Bishop's Stortford.

About the Role

This is a full-time, temporary to permanent opportunity (8:30am - 3:30pm) that requires no prior school experience. We welcome graduates, support workers, healthcare assistants, youth workers, and individuals with personal experience in working with children with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with Moderate to Severe Learning Disabilities (MLD and SLD) in small groups or one-to-one basis to enhance engagement, interaction, and attainment.
  • Develop and learn LSA skills through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Collaborate with parents to ensure consistency in support provided at school and home.
  • Employ a friendly and positive approach to teaching and learning, building strong relationships with individual children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the option to become permanent at a later date.

We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education', which may include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.

We offer FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our workers. All candidates must undergo or have undergone a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
