About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at DFS Furniture Ltd. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment is kept in a safe working condition.
  • Minimize machine and equipment downtime through proactive planned maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out reactive maintenance tasks as required.
  • Implement improvements to machine/equipment safety and efficiency.
  • Diagnose faults effectively and make good whenever possible.
  • Implement minor or small electrical installation works.
  • Conduct mechanical repair and/or replacement of equipment.
  • Ensure all tasks are risk assessed through site-specific or dynamic assessments.
  • SOURCE parts and materials from suppliers and arrange procurement through technical administration.
  • Administer work permits and monitor 3rd party contractors.
  • Keep accurate records and update the CMMS system.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and tidy at all times.
Requirements
  • 5+ years experience in a maintenance role.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical and minimum level 2 in opposite discipline - HND preferred in main discipline.
  • Must hold C&G Initial and periodic electrical inspection and testing.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems.
  • Able to demonstrate strong analytical thinking and have strong decision-making skills.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, able to keep a track of and report on activity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player.
  • Adaptable and flexible.
  • Tidy worker with good organizational skills.
