Dar, a leading international consulting organization, is seeking a highly experienced professional to lead its Transportation Unit in its London design office.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 20 years of experience in managing transportation projects in a multi-disciplinary design and consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the transportation department's workload of international projects, primarily in the Middle East and Africa.
- Prepare commercial bid proposals and tenders.
- Act as project manager for projects led by the department or coordinate team inputs for projects led by other disciplines.
- Maintain liaison and provide technical support to other departments, area offices, and project sites.
- Interact with client representatives through meetings and presentations to represent the company's interests.
- Ensure the company's Quality Assurance system is applied at all times.
- Monitor work and outputs produced by the transportation team and external specialized sub-contractors.
- Coordinate project details with senior directors.
- Oversee deliverables and ensure they are submitted on time, on budget, and to the highest quality.
- 3-year degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of experience and education; MSc or higher is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects and resources, people.
- Experience of working in different operational environments, especially in less-developed and emerging nations.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English, and good report writing abilities. Knowledge of a second language is a bonus.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
