Highways Supervisor Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Highways Supervisor to join our team at Pinnacle Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our highway maintenance projects, working closely with contractors and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct site inductions and record attendance
  2. Lead daily site briefings and coordinate with contractors
  3. Monitor and review contractors' method statements and risk assessments
  4. Perform inspections, testing, and sampling to verify compliance with contracts
  5. Collect and analyze data for KPI measurement
  6. Liaise with Area Managers and Roadspace Manager for coordination and integration of works
  7. Communicate with Local Authorities, Statutory Authorities, Emergency Services, and other third parties as necessary
  8. Assist with contract administration and site management
  9. Monitor site progress and provide regular updates
  10. Develop and maintain quality plans and procedures
  11. Identify and implement new procedures as needed
  12. Prepare and maintain Construction Phase Plans
  13. Produce monthly financial and progress reports
  14. Assist with work valuation and recording
  15. Collaborate with contractors on site programming and planning
  16. Develop and maintain Site Waste Management and Environmental Management Plans
  17. Develop Health and Safety processes and procedures

Requirements:

  1. Extensive experience in the highways sector
  2. General knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery on high-speed roads
  3. Experience with asset management
  4. Effective communication and leadership skills
  5. Computer literacy and proficiency in Word and Excel
  6. Good interpersonal skills
  7. CSCS and SSSTS certifications
