Overnight Operations Supervisor

The Groucho Club is seeking an experienced Overnight Operations Supervisor to oversee our front desk team. We are in search of an individual who embodies proactive energy, a positive mindset, and a welcoming demeanor, along with the essential skills required for this position. Each team member plays a crucial role in crafting the distinctive experience we provide to our club members.

This role requires working during the night hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to members and guests by setting a strong example;
  • Ensuring that all visitors and clients receive professional and outstanding service at all reception points consistently;
  • Supervising the warm and courteous reception of members and their guests;
  • Maintaining a friendly and accommodating attitude towards guests, using their names whenever possible;
  • Upholding a high standard of personal appearance and conduct;
  • Familiarizing oneself with members' preferences and sharing this knowledge with the team;
  • Consistently bringing energy and enthusiasm to the role;
  • Efficiently completing daily tasks without compromising the member experience;
  • Empowering oneself to resolve member issues and exceed their expectations;
  • Remaining calm and composed in challenging situations;
  • Assisting the closing Duty Manager;
  • Conducting thorough security checks of the premises;
  • Acting as the duty manager during the early morning hours;
  • Providing relevant information to the morning receptionist;
  • Managing all reception desks;
  • Coordinating restaurant reservations and ensuring guests are directed to the appropriate dining areas;
  • Actively promoting Club events to members;
  • Handling administrative duties at the reception desk;
  • Staying informed about all activities, events, and bookings within the club;
  • Preparing various reports and maintaining accurate records;
  • Ensuring compliance with club rules by colleagues and members;
  • Keeping reception areas tidy and organized;
  • Maintaining a record of regular and VIP guests;
  • Providing efficient handovers for the next shift;

Required Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in hospitality or retail as an Overnight Supervisor or similar role;
  • Outgoing, confident, and cheerful personality;
  • Well-groomed and professional appearance;
  • Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service;
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Dedication to providing excellent customer service;
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds;
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments;
